For sale: a 2025 Gibson SG ’61 Standard, in near-mint condition.

The ’61 Standard pays tribute to one of the most important periods in the history of the Gibson SG, capturing the character and appearance of the original early-1960s SG while offering the quality and reliability of a modern Gibson. The classic thin mahogany body, double cutaway, and excellent upper-fret access combine to deliver the iconic playing experience that has made the SG one of Gibson’s most popular models.

The guitar’s Gibson humbuckers deliver a full, powerful, and dynamic tone while retaining the distinctive aggressive midrange and exceptional sustain associated with the SG. It is equally at home with blues, rock, hard rock, and high-gain playing.

The ’61 specification suits the SG perfectly: lightweight, comfortable, fast, and highly resonant, with an incredibly lively acoustic character.

Thanks to its 2025 production year and excellent condition, this is essentially a new-condition Gibson that can be enjoyed without paying the full price of a brand-new instrument.

Classic Gibson SG design, ’61 character, outstanding tone, and near-mint condition.
